For twenty years, the Rochelaise Echo Mer Association has been raising awareness of ocean conservation through its actions. Besides the recycling of «marine» materials into bags and other useful and decorative objects, the collection of waste in the ports or the animation of educational workshops, These defenders of our common environment regularly organize eco-citizen walks to discover the marina from a particular angle.
Offering the public a different and in-depth look at the port of Minimes de La Rochelle where more than 5,000 boats are moored: this is the objective of the eco-citizen walks and imagined by the leaders of the associative movement Echo Mer. For an hour and a half, one of them takes the volunteers on a very informative trip through the history of the place and the city, but also in the history of fishing, sailing and maritime trade in Rochelais.
Over time, the ecological impact of man’s excesses and negligence on the ocean rises to the surface, as does the solution to limit its consequences. At the end of the walk, we know more about the risks of the seabed. And how everyone can act to save them from devastating pollution.
Next dates of eco-citizen walks: 9 and 23 July; 6 and 20 August; 3 and 17 September; 1 and 15 October.
Reservations: contact@echomer.fr/ 05 46 41 04 81. Free and from 7 years old.
