A 'must' for all French and even foreign cinephiles, this year the International Film Festival is celebrating its 45th anniversary. For this occasion, the programme will pay tribute to some of the 'big players' of cinema, the '7th Art'. An unmissable event running from 30th June to 9th July.
Although there will be 11 films shown during the Festival celebrating Volker Schlöndorff's undisputed talent, including Circle of Deceit, The Tin Drum or even Death of a Salesman, there will also be 33 works by Alfred Hitchcock, the master of suspense, including his silent films, English films and a dozen American masterpieces… in short, a programme set to delight the hundreds of spectators who come from all over France to watch the city’s various screenings. During the festival from 30th June to 9th July, tribute will also be paid to the late Andreï Tarkovsi, Michaël Cacoyannis (Zorba the Greek among others) and filmmaker Laurent Cantet. As proof of the eclecticism of this unmissable event for cinema enthusiasts, today's modern Israeli cinematography will be as equally honoured as Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a dedicated 'Arnie evening', screening three of his most famous films...Total Recall, Last Action Hero and Terminator 2.
